• The king was the supreme head and was responsible for taking any decisions

• The system of administration was hereditary like after the king’s demise, his son would become the next king and so on

• Various kingdoms such as Hoychalas, Kalachuris, Seunas etc were allowed to rule their kingdoms autonomously provided that they paid a certain tribute to the Chalukyas annually
