• Some subjects teach students about the long lost culture of India, which they should be aware of.

• Since students learn so many subjects, some of them find it easier to determine what field they want to pursue a career in.

• Subjects like Economics and English help students in their day to day life.

Indian Education System Disadvantages:

Most subjects, such as chemistry and physics, focus on textbook knowledge, when they could be fun applied subjects to learn.

There is lesser focus on physical education and sports, and more focus on studying all day long.

Sex Education is not given in Indian Schools, which is something that needs to be thoughtfully inculcated each year for students.

There is lesser focus on character building, as many schools do not have lessons on etiquette and mannerisms.

The subject matter and homework puts a tremendous amount of stress on students, which is incredibly difficult for many to bear.

Large classes in schools means that there is lesser focus on each student’s learning. This is hazardous to a student’s education journey during, as well as after school.

Since most knowledge is only memorized and not retained for the long run, students feel lost after school. Many even remain unemployed.

Many schools charge exorbitant fees, which becomes a burden for parents. Schools with affordable fees generally have lesser funds, which affect the quality of education.

Examinations are more focused on end results, rather than continuous learning.

Advantages

• India has seen outstanding economic growth through the acceleration of education. Individuals are less unemployed and others are also self-employed or freelancing
• One of the most good aspects is the outstanding decline in child labour.There is reservation systems available for the socially under-privileged people
• Presently, two boards except the state boards which convey education up to secondary schools are mainly present, that is to say ICSE and CBSE. In addition, there are Open Universities which provide home study
• Students have a variety of options to choose from and this gives them the opportunity to take up their desired courses.

Disadvantages

• The main drawback of the current education system is that it is not easily affordable. More than 37 per cent of India's population now lives below the level of poverty  Hence, they cannot afford education even at the primary level.
• The low standard of teachers in government schools is another reason for the inadequate level of teaching. The educational standard of public schools are not as expected and have no truthful picture amongst the people
• The next option is private institutions that offer degrees from private to postgraduate. However, the admission procedures are very costly and too complicated to access for a common person.
• Some topics, including chemistry and physics, rely on classroom awareness where it can be enjoyable when applied practically. The emphasis is less on physical activity and athletics and more on the study during the day. Examinations focus more on end results, instead of continuous learning. The subjects and homework imposes immense burden on students, which for many is extraordinarily difficult to bear.
• In Indian Schools sex education is not given, which is something that must be carefully educated for students every year. Character-building is of less value because most schools have no lessons on mannerisms & etiquette.
