Explanation:

the battle of Buxar(1764)

the British soon replaced mir jafar with his son-in-law mir qasim in 1760. mir Qusim tried to make the officials of the EElC pay taxes for their private trade in retaliation , the British removed mir qasim from the throne of Bengal.

mir Qusim sought the help of the mughal emperor Shah alam ll. and the Nawab of awadh ,shujauddulah . their combined armies fought the British in the Battle of Buxar . however, they were defeated by the British under Clive and froced to sign the treaty of Allahabad ,by which shah alam ll. granted EElC the diwani of Bengal , Bihar and Odisha . this gave the British the right to collect revenue and administration ciliv justice in these regions.

Mir jafar was put back on the throne.although he was made responsible for the administration of the province ,the right to collect revenue remained with the British . this was known as the dual system of government -the Nawab was responsible for administration, but had neither the power nor the resources to do so .it allowed the company to rob Bengal of its wealth and reasorces without giving anything back in return most of the revenue collected was sent to England . the rest was used by the company to strengthen its political , military and trade interests in India .

It was a battle fought between the English Forces, and a joint army of the Nawab of Oudh, Nawab of Bengal, and the Mughal Emperor. The battle was the result of misuse of trade privileges granted by the Nawab of Bengal and also the colonialist ambitions of East India Company.
