The biological features of phylum cnidaria:

  • Phylum Coelenterata is known as Phylum Cnidaria.
  • They are mostly aquatic organisms especially in sea water.
  • They are multicellular organisms which have diploblastic body wall that includes two germ layers (Ectoderm/Endo term).
  • Endoderm and ectoderm layers are separed by Mesoglea.
  • They undergoes both sexual and asexual reproduction.
  • Some examples of Coelenterata are Hydra and Jellyfish.
  • The central gastrovascular cavity of  the phylum Cnidaria is called as coelenteron.
