electronic configuration of carbon is 1st. 2s2. 2px1.2py1 2px1. so one 2s and three p orbitals together form four sp3 hybrid orbitals which make an angle of 109 degree 8.such carbon atom forms four sigma bond with four hydrogen atoms and methane molecule attains a tetrahedral structure
