On 4th June 1845 at 2.00pm, in a village of Silesia, weavers marched from their homes to the home of the contractor and some attacked the mansion while others looted the hoarded grains. The contractor went to a neighboring village but the villagers refused to shelter such a person. The contractor came a little after with sepoys and peons and in the exchange 11 weavers were killed. The revolt occurred as the contractor was unwilling to give them their fair amount of wage.
