The features or characteristics of Indian Caste System given by Dr. G.S Ghurye
• Hierarchy:
According to G.S Ghurye Caste was defined in one particular order with Brahmin at top.
Kshatriya was considered after Brahmin and then Vaishya and then Shudra. In big cities this is become irrelevant as hierarchy of caste systems lose its importance.
• Marriage restrictions
• Benefits and demerits of different castes
• Break society into different divisions
• Limitations on drinking, feeding and other social communications
