LouisXVI became the king of France in 1774 . He was a weak ruler and had no foresight.He did not take any interest in the adminstration and had assigned all the adminstrative duties to such officers who had no interest in people's welfare .There were no uniform laws.The laws differed from province to province and from one class to another.Opportunities for higher jobs were denied to common man.There was an awakening among the people due to writings of philoshpers such as Rousseau,Voltaire etc it created a revolutionery spirit among the people to fight the inequalities
