French society in the eighteenth century was divided into three estates namely The Clergy, The nobility and third estates which comprise peasants, officials and small business. It was only third estates that pay taxes.

1) economic :- france helped 13 Americans colonies to get independence against Britain. money was wasted in maintaining palace ,army , universities and courts.

so that's why they were forced to increase taxes.

2) social :-women were considered inferior to men.

3rd estate were considered passive citizen.

all power were in hands of 1st and 2nd estate

3) political:- the country was divided Into three estate

first estate: clergy

2nd estate: nobility

3rd estate: peasants, shoemakers small business man etc.

1st and 2nd estae was excluded in paying taxes , 3rd estae has to pay all taxes.
