Social cause:People were divided into 3 estates. Clergy, Nobility were given special privileges as they were 1 & 2 estate respectively. They were excemted from paying taxes. Therefore other citizens were discontented.
Economic cause: France's treasury was drained due to wars, to give freedom to American colonies from the common enemy Britishers. So to overcome this problem Louis XVI increased the taxes which made people's condition even worse.
Intellectual cause: There were many philosophers which wanted a change in the feudal system. They wrote books to convey their ideas. After some time Feudal System was abolished.
