Launched on April 6, 1930 the Civil Disobedience Movement was the most significant movement in the freedom struggle of India. In support of this movement, Indian people continues the production of salt and boycotted foreign clothes and goods. Farmers of India denied paying revenue and Chowidari taxes.

A nonviolent movement which was concerned with the refusal of citizens to obey certain laws, demands, orders or commands of the colonial masters in India.

  • It was led by Mahatma Gandhi in year 1930.
  • It had begun with Gandhi's march from Sabarmati to the coastal town of Dandi in Gujarat.
