Civil Disobedience Movement

  • after failure of non cooperation movement gandhi ji wrote a letter to Irwin demanding 11 demands.
  • one of the major demand was removal of salt law.
  • he wrote in letter that if you will not accept these demands then I will start a civil Disobedience Movement.
  • Irwin negotiated it and gandhi ji started Civil Disobedience Movement.
  • in this movement people were allowed to break laws made by british government and refusal of not wearing foreign cloth, liquor shop were picked and forest law was broken by sufferers.
  • Many people belonging to different society took part in this such as farmers, businessmen, workers for their demands.
  • As the Britishers started clashing with leaders and violence formed gandhi switched off the movement.
  • Now gandhi ji travel to London for GANDHI IRWIN PACT , and in London conference his demands were negotiated.
  • when he came back he saw that many leaders are in jail and britishers has started a new terrorism.
  • so gandhi ji again launched the movement.
