Answer:

The Amazon Basin stretches directly on the equator and is characterized by hot and wet climate throughout the year. Both day and nights are almost equally hot and humid. The skin feels sticky. It rains almost every day, that too without much warning. The day temperatures are high with very high humidity. At night the temperature goes down but the humidity remains high.

Tapirs and ancient mammals like anteaters and armadillos are found on the ground. Reptiles like crocodile, alligators, turtles, iguanas and different types of snakes including anaconda are found in the swamps. The rivers have a rich variety of fish, including the fierce flesh-eating of piranha. Colourful birds like taucans, hummingbirds, different types of parrots and a variety of insects are also found in the Amazon Basin.
