Doctrine of Lapse was a policy of 'East India Company'. It was implemented in India by 'Lord Dalhousie' , who was Governor general of India since 1848-56. This policy was made with a core that if ruler of dependant state dies childless, then right over kingdom will be annexed by 'East India Company'
