COMPOSITION
- Chief Justice of India
- not more than 30 judges
- The Parliament may increase this number
- ad-hoc judges
Θ ORIGINAL JURISDICTION
- The Supreme Court has the power to take cases directly in matters between the Government of state or the Centre .
- It has original jurisdiction in Fundamental rights and matters relating to Constitution.
Θ APPELLATE JURISDICTION
- The Supreme Court may take appeals from any Lower Courts
- It solves criminal , civil and constitutional cases .
Θ ADVISORY JURISDICTION
- The Supreme Court may advise the President on any matter of public importance when the President asks for the advice.
Θ REVISORY JURISDICTION
- The Supreme Court revises its own decisions and corrects wrong judgement.
