Composition of constituent assembly

The composition of constitute assemble was decided with regards to some key points that who will become the member of the assembly .

These points were mostly taken from the points suggested by Cabinet mission.

The key factors that determined the composition of constituent assembly are :-

• The seats allotted to every provincial and princely state were according to proportion of their seat to population . The proportion was 1 : 10,00,000

• The categorization was based on mainly 3 communities Muslims , Sikhs and general.

• The members of provincial states were elected through Proportional representation by single transferable votes.

• The members of princely states were selected through consultation .

Members composition :-

• From Provincial states 292 members were elected .

• From Princely states 93 members were selected .

• 82 % seats were occupied by members of Indian national congress .

• 28 members were from Muslim league .
