Supreme Court

  • The supreme Court of India consists of a Chief Chief Justice of India with not more then 33 other judge,until Parliament by law prescribe a large number of judge.The current number of judge are 30.
  • Qualifications for Appointment as judge of Supreme Court.
  1. he/She must have atleast five year Judge in High court or two or more court in succession.
  2. He/She has been an Advocate for atleast ten year in high court or any court in succession.
  3. In only opinion of the President a distinguished jurist.
  • Every judge in Supreme Court is appointed by President.
  • The senier most judge is appointed as the Chief Justice of Supreme court.
  • When a Chief Justice is unable to perform his/her duties President appoint new one.
