The conditions of agrarian women in the Mughal rural society:

  • The women worked on the fields along with the men in the fields.  
  • While the men tilled and plowed the fields the women busy with sowing the seeds, weeding, threshing and winnowing the harvest.  
  • The women were involved in production of various artisan activities like spinning yarn, sifting and kneading clay for pottery, and embroidery.  
  • The women even worked in their employer’s houses and went to the market for them.  
  • The women were considered important during society because of bearing children and also working as labour.
