The conditions of women in 18th century French society and Indian society were different .
The effects of Enlightenment and Industrial revolution that spread in Europe was much earlier here than in the Oriental nations. The struggle for the women rights, their participation in the political movements was seen much before in the French society than in India where at the same time, there was a rule of purdah system and feudalistic norms.
