The women in Laputa were very vivacious. They hated their husbands and we're very fond of strangers . They choose their gallants from these strangers who come to the king's court to meet him.However they did it very casually and coolly because their husbands were very much absorbed in in speculation . Thai ended up in the mistress and the lover always proceeding to do whatever they wanted to do right under his very nose. The women of Laputa lamented their confinement to the island. They longed to see the world and the diversions of the metropolis which they were not allowed to do without a special license from the king. This license was not easy to obtain, because it was hard to persuade their women to return from the continent below once they visited it.
