Tsar ( emperors) ruled in russia in 20th century. It was vast area of land spread over two continents Europe and Asia . Therefore it had been called a Euro-- Asian power. It is the third largest population in the world, viz. 156 million after china and India . The livelihood of most Russians came from agriculture. Often there were struggles between peasants and feudal lords for control over land. The feudal lords owned most of the lands and most peasants paid rent for the land they have tilled.
tsar Nicholas 2 ruled over his vast russian empire with the help of the army and bureaucracy. The Russian economy had suffered a lot of by the first world war. The Russian army was the largest in the world before world war I. It became the biggest loser of human lives in world war 1 . A large amount of food was supplied to the war front during the war.
At last on march 8th 1917 , around 10,000 women 0f the capital st. Petersburg took out a procession demanding peace and bread .
Workers also joined them in this protest . Nicholas was upset and escaped from their . And after some period the workers and all the peasants started to revolt . And they achieved their fuundamental rights and their freedom .
