Macbeth is a play about an ancient Scottish king who turns to evil in the pursuit of power. He accepts that he must commit murder if he is to seize the throne. The real historical figure was not nearly as bad but Shakespeare was trying to win favour for his theatre company by pleasing the new king, James I.

Macbeth is thought to be a fierce, brave Scottish soldier.
- He is represented as an unmerciful somebody, slaughtering anyone to serve and be loyal to his country.
- The male monarch seen at the beginning of the play compared to the male monarch seen at the top of the play is the entire opposites.
- The requirement for power drives a male monarch till he goes against everything he's legendary for.
- He becomes power-hungry, greedy, and bold. It appears like he becomes insane in the main as a result of his feeling ambition and guilt at the equivalent time.
