In the poem, we can see old kaspar is more concerned about the victory and talks more of about the great victory.. even though he ironically say "great victory" telling the destruction due to war..
The children on the other hand are more concerned concerned about the destruction that occurred..
they ask the purpose and causes of war...
this shows their concern towards the number of people who died in war...they don't like the horrifying scene of war as there a number of bodies lay rotten in sun...
The common contrast is that Kaspar talks more about the victory where as grandchildren talks and asks more about destruction of war.
