Following are the contributions of Alluri Sitaram Raju to the non cooperation movement in Andhra Pradesh;
(i) He followed Gandhi's movement but did not believe in nonviolence.
(ii) He started guerrilla war against the British with the help of Gudas Hills.
Alluri Sitaram Raju was famously known as ' Manyam Veerudu' in Andhra
Pradesh.
During the non-cooperation movement launched by Gandhiji, Raju led a
similar protest movemeent known as Rampa Rebellion.
He revolted against British authorities, stole their guns, raided their
police stations and killed several British officers.
He joined hands with tribal revolutionaries who were in anger against the
1882 Madras Forest Act. His movement spread across East Godavari and
Visakhapatnam districts of modern day Andhra Pradesh.
