Iping is a little town in England. Coach and Horses is an old inn in Iping and Mrs.
Hall was its owner. To this inn in Iping, one winter evening strange guest came. He
was entirely covered from head to toe. He wanted a room to stay. Mrs. Hall saw
that the man had money to pay so she let him in even without asking his
whereabouts.
This happened in Iping.
It was winter and there was an inn/lodge in Iping and its name was
Coach and Horses.
A stranger arrived at the Coach-and-Horses inn.
The stranger was totally covered, with only his shiny nose visible.
He wore spectacles with sidelights, which looked like goggles.
He was rich so he got a room at the inn.
Mrs. Hall, the innkeeper, got ready to serve her guest but the man’s
appearance roused her suspicions.
Mrs. Hall assumes that this the man was through an accident so she
decided to make him happy by talking to him.
She tried to get him to talk about what happened but he doesn’t want
to talk about his “accident” with a gossipy innkeeper.
Instead, he asks her about getting his luggage from the railroad
station.
It was biting cold when a stranger arrived at the ‘Coach and Horses’
inn at lping. Mrs. Hall, the owner of the inn gave him accommodation
without giving much consideration about his identity. The stranger
was fully covered from head to toe but his pinkish bright nose. When
she went in to his room to serve him tea, she did not knock at his door
and entered swiftly. She noticed that the guest had taken off his hat
and overcoat. She heard a muffled voice and stood gaping at him. His
head was all bandaged up. His hair escaping through them gave him a
very grotesque appearance. Mrs. Hall was too shocked to even speak.
The stranger had arrived in lping at the time when no tourists visited
the place. Mrs. Hall was happy to have a guest when the business was
low. Moreover, the stranger didn’t argue over the rent. Initially, his
behavior was not something worth mentioning about. He kept to
himself. Once or twice Mrs. Hall tried to start a conversation with
him but he didn’t like to talk much. Mrs. Hall was sorry for him. She
was talking to him when he abruptly asked for matches. Mrs. Hall
thought that it was rather rude of him. But she didn’t say anything as
she wants the money. Later he was heard talking to himself
hope it helps u mate....
