COTTON TEXTILES INDUSTRY BASED ON LOCATION.

the first cotton textiles mill was established in Mumbai in 1854. Now handlooms have replaced powerlooms. 80 percent of the mill are in private sector. The industry is mainly located in Gujarat, maharashtra and Tamil nadu. It provides employment to weavers, cotton farmers, mill workers, supports chemicals, dye industry and engineering works.
