• The earth quake and tsunami day is also called as ‘Boxing Day Tsunami’.

• A massive earth quake was experienced by Indonesia on 26th 2004. Sumatra one of the popular coastal areas of Indonesia was the epicentre of the massive earth quake. • The highest height of the tsunami was measured about 67.3 ft (51 m) near Banda Aceh between a hill Lhoknga and Leupung (western coast of the northern tip of Sumatra).  
• The 2004 tsunami devastated the life of thousands of people across the Asian countries, many lost their lives, dear ones, shelters and properties. Many of the areas were completely inundated with sea water experience a complete wipe-out of buildings and infra structures that include school, houses, hospital, Govt offices etc.
