Describe the death scene of Duke.

On the evening of October 12,1957,the Hooper had guests.Suddenly over the babble of voices, Hooper heard the screach of brakes outside. Instinctively, he looked for Duke. The dog was run over by a vehicle. Marcy herself picked up the big Duke and drove him to animal hospital. Duke was drugged but couldn't survive and died at 11 o'clock the next morning.
