Desalination of brackish water is the process by which one removes Salt from the sea water and makes it available for normal use.

To remove the Salt from the brackish water the process of reverse osmosis is performed. Although brackish water is less salty as compared to the sea water but still it is not suitable for use in some applications.

Apart from using reverse osmosis the process of electrodialysis is also used to make the brackish water suitable for any use.

Desalination of brackish water is mainly and widely used for the areas like deserts where only brackish water is available for all the purposes to make in use.
