The development of TISCO:
- The Tata iron and steel company started producing steel in the early 1912 which provided huge market for rails that the British produced. Development of the TISCO was brought around by the onset of First World War.
- It was during the days of industrialisation flourishing in Britain when the break out of First World War took place which led in the diversion of steel production towards attending to the needs of war efforts in whole Europe.
- The impact of this led to production of railway supplies by TISCO for the growing Indian railways as the former has declined the import of British steel. This also led to increase of production of steel by the same on a large scale.
- At that point of time the colonial government started buying over 90 percent of the manufactured products which led to the development of the company.
