Glucose is first converted into pyruvic acid in anaerobic conditions
Depending upon availability of oxygen pyruvic acid then undergoes aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
In aerobic - it gets completely oxidized to give CO2 water and energy (Krebs cycle)
In anaerobic - it gets converted in to lactic acid (muscle cells due to lack of oxygen, extreme exercise), Ethanol in yest cell (fermentation)
