The different branches of legal system are :the criminal law and the civil law. The criminal law deals with cases such as harassing a woman, theft, murder, etc.whereas the civil law deals with rights of individuals. Criminal law begins with lodging an FIR and civil law begins with a petition. Accused may be sent to jail or be fined but in civil law accused cannot be sent to the jail. This is all about the branches of legal system
