HERE YOU GO,
Soil can be classified into three primary types based on its texture – sand, silt and clay. However, the percentage of these can vary, resulting in more compound types of soil such as loamy sand, sandy clay, silty clay, etc.
SANDY SOIL - Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles. A soil containing more than 85% sand-sized particles by mass is called sandy. ... It contains a balance of all three soil materials— sand, silt and clay—plus humus.
CLAYEY SOIL - a soil that contains a high percentage of fine particles and colloidal substance and becomes sticky when wet OR Clayey soil has very small sized particles. These particles are packed tightly and therefore can retain water. Clayey soil is also rich in organic matter. For growing crops such as wheat, gram, and paddy, the soil should be good at retaining water and rich in organic matter is suitable.
LOAMY SOIL - Loamy soil is a mixture of sand, clay, silt and humus in the right proportions. 2) Loamy soil is a mixture of large and small rock particles which impart it the desired properties. 3) Loamy soil has the right water-holding capacity for the growth of plants. 4)The excess water can also drain out through it easily.
