Himalaya are divided from west to east on the basis of river such as -

Punjab Himalayas -

between Indus and Satluj rivers

Kumaon Himalayas - between Satluj and Kali rivers

Nepal Himalayas - between Kali and Teesta rivers

Assam Himalayas - between Teesta and Dihang rivers.
