Godavari,Krishna,kaveri,mahanadi are the east flowing rivers(bay of bengal)

Narmada and tapi are the west flowing rivers (Arabian sea)

West flowing peninsular rivers

(i)The rivers flowing westward on the peninsular plateau are generally small but rivers Narmada and Tapi are exceptions to this.

(ii)These rivers do not form deltas.

(iii)West flowing rivers like Narmada and Tapi flow through troughs which have been formed due to faulting.

(iv)These rivers fall into Arabian sea.

(v)The Narmada and Tapi are west flowing rivers.
