describe the effect that the spectacle of the peak had on the poet's mind
Answers
The influence that the spectacle of the peak had on the poet's mind:
• The poet wanted to take the boat near the rocky ridge, but the sudden arrival of a huge, black peak frightened him.
• The more he propelled the boat, the bigger the peak seemed to become in front of him.
• Soon it seemed to move with the restrained step like a living being toward the poet.
• This made the poet turn back to the stone cave.
Hope it helped..
Answer:
As the poet was rowing the boat feeling excited suddenly he saw a large mountain looming ahead of him. It was huge and black and kept growing in stature. He felt that it was following him therefore he turned back and kept the boat from where he had taken. For days together after this incident his mind remained dark and blank. None of the pleasant images of nature remained. All that remained in his mind were huge and mighty forms which though were lifeless kept moving in his mind troubling him both during his wakefulness as well as in his dreams.
