Raja ram Mohan Roy was one of the greatest social reformers. He was concerned about a number of evil indian practices these included child marriage , sati etc. Raja ram Mohan Roy strongly opposed this act, and called it a monstrous lie. Rajas arguments and anti sati activities led Lord William bentick to abolish sati system in the year 1829

Ishwar Chandra vidyasagar was another great social reformers who sought to improve the condition of widows by legalizing the widow remarriage. Since he felt that his own life should set an example for others to follow,he took a pledge that he would allow his daughters to study, and married all his daughters after they were 16 years of age, he also pledged that if any of his daughters were widowed and they wanted to get married, he would allow them to do so.

Answer:

Raja Ram Mohan Roy is considered as the pioneer of modern Indian Renaissance for the remarkable reforms he brought in the 18th century India. Among his efforts, the abolition of the sati-pratha-a practice in which the widow was compelled to sacrifice herself on the funeral pyre of her husband-was the prominent.

ishwar chandra vidyasagar main contribution was towards the uplifting the status of the women; he was a great supporter of widow remarriages; in those times the condition of widows among Hindus was very pathetic, Vidyasagar worked persistently to elevate their position.
