its ethnic composition is stated in the following points :-
1. Sri Lanka has been up centre of Buddhist religion and culture from ancient times. It is a multi religious and multi ethnic Nation.
2. Religious like Hinduism, Christianity, Islam and others are also there.
3. Here, they are major social groups are Sinhala speakers and Tamil speakers.
4. Among the males there are two subgroups Sri Lankan Tamils and Indian Tamils.
