The event which occurred on 14th July 1789 was the Storming of the Bastille. The Bastille is a medieval fortress, political prison and armoury located in Paris , France. The Storming took place on the afternoon of July 14th 1789. Just seven prisoners were contained in the Bastille at the time of its storming.
This marked the flash-point of the French Revolution.
