The following are the events that led to the 1905 Revolution of Russia:

The defeat of Russia in the Russo-Japanese War in the year 1905 brought together the anger of the Russians to the forefront. The high prices of goods, scarcity of essential commodities and the defeat in the war made Russians come together.

On a Sunday in 1905, various strikes took place throughout the country and students put the banner to close the universities. The middle-class workers demanded a Constituent Assembly which later led to the foundation of the Duma. 'Soviets" a new form of organization developed in Russia.

The social unrest provoked disturbances throughout the country. Moreover, the navy and army also revolted against the authority of the Tsar and give their sympathies to the revolutionaries.
