Double fertilisation and triple fusion occur during fertilisation in angiosperms
Two male gametes fall on the sticky stigma. A pollen tube grown the the pollen grain and enters the ovary through micropyle. The male gametes travel through this tube and reach the ovary. One male gamete fuses with the egg (forms zygote and further forms the embryo)and the other fuses with the already fused polar nuclei( forms the endosperm, which serves as a nutritive tissue for the embryo) .
