The biological process of removal of harmful nitrogenous metabolic waste from body is called excretion.
excretory system consists of
1. a pair of kidneys - it is located in abdomen. there are two kidney present of one on either side of back bone. they are bean shaped. the function is to remove the poisonous substance urea other waste salt and excess water from the blood and excrete them in the form of urine.
2. a pair of ureters - Slender tubes arising from hilum of kidney. it opens into urinary bladder.
3. urinary bladder - it is pear shaped muscular reservoir of urine. it opens into urethra.
4. urethra - it opens to outside through urethral aperture. it is longer than males than in females.
