Describe the experience Bama had on her way back home which made her feel sad.

One day when Bama was returning home from school, she saw an elder of her village carrying a food packet by a string. It was for his landlord. Initially Bama thought, it was funny.

But when she narrated, the incident to her elder brother, he explained the reason behind and that made Bama sad.

He said it was because of caste system. The society was divided into upper and lower castes. They belonged to a lower caste and were considered as untouchable, by the upper caste.
