The factors affecting climate are latitude, altitude, land and water distribution, distance from the sea, distance from the sun, prevailing winds and ocean currents, surface covering the land, volcanism, solar constant sunspots, wind direction and nature of mountain chains, mountain barriers.

Hope it helps you.

1. Latitude: The equator and the regions near it receive vertical rays of the sun. Places near the equator have high temperature. The temperature goes on decreasing from the equator towards the poles.

2. Altitude: As you increase in elevation, there is less air above you thus the pressure decreases. As the pressure decreases, air molecules spread out further and the temperature decreases.

3. Distance from the sea: Land and sae breezes have a moderating influence on the temperature of the coastal areas and so they have maritime or oceanic climate. places situated far away from the sea have extremes of temperature and thus experience continental climate.

4. Winds: winds blowing from warmer areas raise the temperature of the places over which they blow, while winds blowing from cooler areas lower the temperature.
