Answer:

The inner core is solid, the outer core is liquid, and the mantle is solid/plastic. This is due to the relative melting points of the different layers (nickel–iron core, silicate crust and mantle) and the increase in temperature and pressure as depth increases.

we can say that the interior of the earth is like an onion-with several layers one inside the other.or like an apple-with a thin crust ,pulp or core.the earth has 3 main layers.the crust the mantle and the core.the mantle is further divided into the upper mantle and the lower mantle.

crust

the crust is the uppermost layer of the earth.it is the thinnest layer forming just 1%of the earth's volume.it mainly consists of minerals like the silica and aluminium i.e. also called Sial.the the crust varies in thickness from 5-7km under the mountain to 30-70 km under the continent.

mantle

the mantle is situated below the crustit is about 2900km thick.based on its chemical composition it is mainly divide into 2 parts-

upper mantle-it is a thin stiff layer consisting of mainly of minerals silica, iron and magnesium.it extends from the the bottom of the crust to around 300km.

lower mantle-extends from around 300 to 2900km.it contains silicon, iron, magnesium.it has avg. temperatures of 3000 degree c.it is semi solid.the molted material present here is called magma which flows out as lava during volcanic eruptions.

core

innermost layer of the earth is core the radius being 3500km.it is further divided into outer core and inner core.

outer core-it is 2300km thick.it is so hot that it is liquid.

the inner coreit is 1200km thick the inner core is so hot and under so much pressure it is solid.it is hotter than the surface of the sun.
