The Government of India Act 1919

Explanation:

The parliament of  the United Kingdom passed an act  for the participation of Indians in the Government. It brought to an end of despotism. It was for the first time elections were held in the Legislatures.

Dyarchy was introduced, i.e., there were two administrators – Executive councilors and ministers

The Governor was the official head of the province

The subjects were separated into two lists –reserved and transferred.

The governor was responsible for the reserved list alongside his official councilors.

The ministers were responsible to the individuals who chose them through the legislature.

The defects of the Government of Act 1919 are the absence of  responsible government and it created division among the individuals due tom separate electorate.
