In the poem, the child has been presented as a sensitive child so when she see's the photograph of her mother, she gets emotional. The picture is of the childhood of her mother which was taken by her mother's uncle. Duaghter gets sentimental as she misses her mother and also the fact that she cannot live with her mother now, this brings tears in the eyes of the daughter and she feels a pang in her heart about it
