After Lighting The Lamp, Baldeo returned to the entrance and sat down to wait for the Overland Train To arrive. Meanwhile, he began to nod and sleep. He was awakened by a low grunt made by the tiger. He Knew that sound was made by the tiger. He couldn't seek for shelter as there were none. But, he had his axe with him. So he held it firmly, trying to identify the direction from which the tiger was coming with his hearing sense. As he listened like never before, he heard a thump and rattle of small stones as though the tiger had jumped from the top of cutting and was coming towards him. He soon saw a great brute that was running rapidly towards him. Flight was useless for Baldeo as he knew the tiger would be more sure-footed and would be upon him from behind. The tiger ran towards him with a snarl trying to knock Baldeo off with his right paw. But, Baldeo escaped the attack. He attacked the tiger on its shoulder with his axe. He had almost severed its leg. Once again, Baldeo Tried to attack but this time, the axe had stuck on the Bruce's shoulder leaving Baldeo without a weapon. The tiger, roaring with agony pounced upon Baldeo, bringing him down and tearing his flesh. It was all over in a f minutes. Baldeo could only feel the excruciating pain down his back. Then Baldeo succumbed to death.
