Describe the flow of blood through the
heart. Why does oxygen rich blood not
mix with carbon dioxide-rich blood?​

Answer:  The deoxygenated blood is carried from lower body by inferior vena cava and upper body by superior vena cava. This deoxygenated blood is then pumped into right atrium, then goes to right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps this deoxygenated blood into lungs by pulmonary arteries. In lungs exchange of gases occur at the site of alveoli. The oxygenated blood then comes back to the heart by pulmonary veins and is received by left atrium. Then it is pumped to left venticle. And then through the aorta, this oxygenated blood is pumped to the whole body.
