FOOD SECURITY means availability, accessibility and affordability of food to all the people at all times.
In india, the poor household are vulnerable to food when there is a problem in the distribution of food grains.
The food cooperation of india (FCI)collects the food grains from the farmers with a pre-announced prices
Known as the minimum support price(MSP) and stores the food grains in the buffer stocks.
Then the public distribution system(PDS) redistributes the grains to the poorer sections of the society (espically stored in the fair markets)
And then the people below the poverty line(BPL)can buy the grains at an affordable price.hence in this way the food security is ensured.
